WHAT TO WEAR: Work Out

What to Wear

With spring break coming up in a few months, getting fit will get you ready for a vacation in the sunshine. Even if you’re not traveling somewhere sunny, working out is one of the first steps in living a healthy lifestyle. I have to admit that I am a huge health freak and work out five to six times a week. Follow these tips to look great while getting into tiptop shape.

I spotted this Fashionista in athletic gear, right after she was done working out in her Zumba class. It really doesn’t matter what top you wear to the gym. I prefer to wear athletic tank tops, but a lot of people wear short sleeved shirts. This Fashionista’s black shirt is loose enough to let her breathe with ease and a good color for hiding sweat. I often see school sponsored shirts worn for workouts, but if you really want to vamp it up try a Lululemon tank top.

Athletic leggings are my personal go-to pants. I really love the neon green accents on this Fashionista’s leggings. Neon colors were a big trend this last summer, and even though the color tones are winding down in everyday apparel, it’s still popular to wear neon colors to the gym. Asics has a similar pair of leggings as well as wonderful athletic footwear.

Nike shoes are one of the most popular brands spotted at any gym. These bright blue running shoes are both aesthetically pleasing and functional for doing physical activity. I am a Nike shoe fanatic, with almost every color offered on their website, it’s hard not to find a color to suit your taste. Try a cute pair of Nike running shoes that will cushion your feet and make you leap with joy.

Whenever I go to they gym I have to listen to music. Not only does this make my work out more enjoyable but it keeps me up beat with my reps and lunges. I really like this Fashionista’s pink headphones. I have always tried to buy cheap headphones but they end up breaking within a few months. You don’t have to spend more than a hundred dollars to hear your favorite tunes. Try iLuv headphones that aren’t that expensive compared to other high quality headphones.

Last but not least, when working out wear a watch. I always time myself and sometimes the equipment at the gym doesn’t have a stopwatch. This Casio watch is both simplistic and practical. You don’t need to wear your designer watch to the gym, a cheap one will do. Also, don’t forget to stay hydrated. Water bottles are always nice to carry around. Try a CamelBak water bottle with a built in filter.

One Simple Change: If she wore a more casual pair of shoes, she could wear this outfit for an early class. Leggings can be worn every hour of the day and her black shirt is also acceptable for class. By switching her bright blue sneakers for a pair of original Dr. Martens boots she can stroll to an eight a.m. class in style. Dressing comfortably is key when having to wake up so early. Just because you didn’t get enough sleep last night doesn’t mean you have to look like a zombie that just rolled out of bed.
