Leather accessories and outwear are timeless staples. The leather jacket is perfect for a night on the town or for walking around campus on a crisp day and will never go out of style. However, one of my favorite facets of leather accents this season is patent. Patent’s glossy look is both eye-catching and classic. However, since it warrants so much attention it has to be worn tastefully.
Most of the time patent leather is used to accent pumps or ballet flats and when I saw this Fashionista’s patent oxfords I had to stop and take note. A lot of us wear patent footwear whether it’s the classic Tory Burch Reva, ballet flats or the preppy favorite Sperry Top-Siders. However, the draw of the material often gets lost amongst the business of the outfit. This Fashionista skillfully paired a flowing white blouse with simple cuffed black pants to create a draw to her shoes.
Lastly, an accessory (if you can call it that) that is often an afterthought is nail polish. This Fashionista’s black-and-white color palette is offset by the subtle brightness of her nail polish.
