FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Megan Landean

Fashionista Spotlight

It is officially one month until Kent State lets out for spring break, and despite catching my attention with her matching winter wear items, the only thing on this Fashionista’s mind is spring break. Actually, as I interviewed her, I realized that this girl has been infected with a serious case of spring fever! She does a great job of keeping cute while staying warm, without putting in much effort. She displays her essence of California-cool by pairing her beach-ready sunglasses with a classic red coat. They complement each other and remind us that here in Kent, Ohio, spring cannot come soon enough.

Name: Megan Landean

Major: Exercise Science

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: So where did you get your boots and your coat?

Megan Landean: I got the boots at Charlotte Russe and the coat at Old Navy.

CF: What are you favorite places to shop?

ML: I love Charlotte Russe. They’re my all-time favorite. Also PacSun!

CF: What’s your most recent fashion buy?

ML: Well I just bought these two really cute dresses from Forever 21. One is a tight black zip-up dress and the other one is a beachy sundress for spring.

CF: Well since you mentioned spring break, do you know what you plan on wearing for the warm weather?

ML: I love wearing colorful, floral sundresses!

CF: Who do you look to for fashion inspiration?

ML: I love Blake Lively’s style. She always has that surfer, beachy look going on. I love hanging out at the beach so yeah, I love her. She’s definitely my fashion icon.

CF: If you could buy one thing that you’ve always wanted but never had the chance to buy, what would you get?

ML: I really, really want a pair of those Rainbow Sandals flip flops. I want a pair of those sandals SO bad, but they’re pretty expensive.

How To: With current fashion magazines boasting clashing prints, many would consider matching to be out of style. I think the opposite. I think that matching can never be overdone (at least for 90% of cases). Mimicking the color coordinating skills of this Fashionista, while adding my own personal twist I found these gorgeous boots from my favorite shop, Modcloth. This coat from Macy’s is the perfect shade of blue to match the boots. It has a gorgeous faux-fur collar, a trend that I hope carries on to next winter. For avid beach goers, Rainbow Sandals are some of the best quality flip flops out there. Here are a pair of my favorites. They’re simple, but made of quality material. To anticipate the coming of spring, I suggest doing your spring shopping now! I’m personally a huge fan of American Eagle Outfitters when it comes to spring break shopping. At reasonable prices and a variety of fresh, breezy spring pieces, American Eagle Outfitters fits the criteria for any spring style you’re looking to embody!
