FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Hope North

Fashionista Spotlight

Gamecock spirit is all over campus!

As USC students we take pride in our Carolinian traditions and most important our Gamecock football. Students get dolled up in their little black dresses and cowboy boots for the football games. We make sure that we are covered in our school colors: garnet and black. The atmosphere in the student section of the football games is unbelieve as USC students' obsession with the gamecocks is apparent. I feel so fortunate to go to a school that is accompanied by great spirit. This is seen not only on game days but as Fashionistas sport these colors on campus. Game Day was approaching and I spotted Hope by the Business Administration building. She looked classy in her prim garnet slacks and her tailored white button down. Hope is a native born Carolinian and loves the University of South Carolina. I thought she was a picture perfect Fashionista with true Gamecock spirit that was admirable.

CollegeFashionista: How can Fashionistas show their school spirit through what they wear on campus?

Hope North: Fashionista's can show their school spirit by wearing the traditional garnet and black colors.

CF: What is your go-to piece for colder fall days?

HN: My go to piece for colder fall days are my brown riding boots and green pea coat.

CF: What is the most interesting outfit you've seen on campus recently, and what did you love most about it?

HN: The most interesting outfit I have seen on campus recently has been green skinny jeans with a bright colored scarf to match and brown riding boots. My favorite part was definitely the scarf.

CF: What do you think it takes to be a Fashionista?

HN: To be a fashionista takes style and creativity.

CF: After graduating how will you incorporate your Fashionista style with your new professional look?

HN: I will incorporate my style with my new career when I graduate by still dressing creatively and accessorizing.

How-To: Garnet is similar to burgundy which is a popular fall color. Wear printed garnet pants or leggings still emphasizing your school spirit with flare. Hope wears a classy white oxford for a simplicity look. If you have a dressier occasion to attend wear a chiffon collared blouse. Add a black cropped sweater over your oxford. Accessorize with spiked jewelry and colorful bangles. Throw on a leopard scarf on colder days and a fur vest. Fedoras are perfect for windy days and are so cute accented with feathers. Fashionistas love tall leather boots adorned with studs and shine.

For this week Fashionistas show your school spirit through your style.
