I sometimes like to think of my face as a blank canvas waiting to be colored and beautified. I love the feeling of my soft brushes against my face while leaving behind a trail of color. With colors, pencils and brushes the possibilities are endless! Makeup can transform you into whatever you want to be. With just a simple soft stroke, you can transform your eyes into the form of a cat’s if that is the look that you are going for, and/ or give life to your cheekbones by applying a little bit of bronzer or blush. Whatever it is that you do, makeup will never fail to transform your beauty to a different level. Of course, when not done correctly, you might end up looking like a clown rather than a diva. Nevertheless, playing around with makeup is always fun and entertaining. Having said that, it is obvious that I love makeup and are for it, however I admire the natural woman who doesn't need any products to define her beauty because she is confident about her natural looks. This is why I chose to take a picture of this Fashionista- a brave girl who is not afraid to show her natural beauty to the world.
Let’s be honest here. The majority of us don't have the level of confidence to walk around with no makeup on, and still feel beautiful. Most of us feel prettier when looking more colorful rather than when looking pale. I, for example, love to have some kind of color on my skin. It is almost impossible for me to leave home without at least applying mascara and lipstick. I have pale pink lips… I apply my favorite cherry-red lipstick with a thin lipstick brush to evenly distribute the color. I stare at my reflection and see how my lips all of a sudden have become fuller. Same thing with mascara… I am happy to say that I have been blessed with long eyelashes. Unfortunately, thanks to mascara’s amazing thickening job, I feel like my eyelashes are completely gone whenever I am not wearing any mascara. That being said, you can imagine how much I admire those girls that can leave home without applying one drop of concealer to hide their “imperfections” or adding color to their faces.
This week’s Fashionista looked beautifully fresh. Her skin glowed while she smiled with confidence — never being afraid of looking pale or “ugly”— a term commonly used by us girls when not having enough time to do our makeup. Not only did she keep her face looking natural by only applying a little bit of mascara and clear lip gloss, but her hair's short waves also fell naturally to her shoulders.
If you want to obtain a more natural look but are used to wearing a lot of makeup, you don’t have to go completely natural all at once. You can start off by wearing a little less of what you wear the most. For example, if you commonly color half of your eyelids with a dark black liner, you can always try to apply less and if it still doesn’t work, try switching to a softer color like brown or grey. Also, bronzed cheeks always look more natural than pink ones. Sephora has a Get Glowing five-piece makeup set by Josie Marian. This set is specifically to obtain healthy and natural looking skin.
