It was impossible to miss this Fashionista. The contrast of her burgundy pants against the stark white snow was beautiful and striking. It provided a sorely needed pop of color in the dead of winter. I quickly learned that this Fashionista had returned from the fashion capital of the world, Paris, for a few months abroad, and she was more than willing to impart some of her learned knowledge with us!
Name: Chrissy Cariello
Major: Psychology
Year: Junior
CollegeFashionista: What brands are you wearing?
Chrissy Cariello: My peacoat is from Victoria’s Secret, the maroon pants are from an Australian store I stumbled upon called Cotton On and the brown boots are from ALDO.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
CC: I like to dress fashionable, but comfortable. I believe that when you’re comfortable, you’re confident and confidence is fashionable.
CF: What are your favorite stores to shop at and why?
CC: I love H&M because it has a lot of cute clothes at great price points.
CF: How has your time abroad influenced your style?
CC: I think my time abroad in Paris has shown me how differently people can dress. I’ve brought that back with me in the sense that I feel confident wearing something that people here might consider different (just don’t ever try getting on the Paris metro in sweats).
How To: Burgundy is a go-to hue for the winter months, providing just enough color to stand out, but remain weather-appropriate. To copy this Fashionista’s look, pair your colored pants with neutral tones, like this camel coat from ASOS and these dark brown Enzo Angiolini boots.
