STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Work Those Chinos!

Style Advice of the Week

When defining style I feel extremely passionate that you not only have to look great in what you wear, but you also have to feel great. Being comfortable in your clothes is the most important factor to not only looking successful but also being successful. With summer internships and corporate jobs in full swing, it can be hard find to a balance between style and functionality, which is why I absolutely love and fully recommend a pair of chino pants for every occasion!

Chinos are a strong, khaki-like, twilled-cotton cloth pant. Originally made for work clothes, chinos are now being transformed by more and more Fashionistas/os into their daily wardrobe for professionalism, comfort and over-all swag.

This particular Fashionisto has chosen a pair of white Club Monaco Slim Fit Lightweight Chinos to create a crisp outfit for work. By mixing the white pant with a pattern dress shirt, he transformed a basic ensemble into a tailored outfit screaming with personality. Likewise, he has illuminated his own style by rocking a pair of leather loathers while adding flare by rolling his chinos just above the ankle showing them off. Chinos offer the perfect answer to any work-place outfit as they are not only suitable for professional situations but they are also extremely versatile and offer a similar level of conformability to a classic pair of jeans. Their lightweight fabric make them more breathable than a classic work pant and the variety of colors and styles they’re available in make them easily paired up or down for any occasion. Chinos are great for both men and women and when paired with your favorite blazer or silk blouse, they have the ability to be your new work place staple!

Chinos have become a major hit in the fashion world and can be seen on many celebrities from Jennifer Garner to Reese Witherspoon, who even shows us how she effortlessly dresses up her J Brand Inez chinos with a pair of heels. Men’s Health also recently featured an article on the different ways to spice up your chinos for a variety of looks like keeping it refined and relaxed, and stepping it up to make a higher end look.

Chinos are crisp, clean and most importantly work place appropriate! They’re comfortable for any occasion and tend to be budget friendly, aka 100% intern approved! If you're not sure how to work them into your own wardrobe I suggest checking out different online shopping websites like Shopbop or Net-A-Porter to check out how they style them, and don’t be limited by classic work place dress codes ever again!
