STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Vintage Feel

Style Advice of the Week

This week's Fashionista is rocking a vintage feel for the fall. This is a look I recommend for all Fashionista's on a budget, but let me warn you—it takes time and patience. This Fashionista is rocking a vintage floral frock with a vintage Gucci belt, wide leg denim jeans and some awesome sunglasses she found in East Village.

If you want to try this look, I recommend starting in your parents closet. Before they send their clothes to Goodwil,l see if there is anything in there that you can revive. If you don’t have any luck, try Goodwill or local thrift shops in your area. Although the smell is a little funny inside and it takes a lot of patience to go through the racks of clothing, you’re sure to find something you’ll love. You can also look online at various e-commerce sites such as Ebay, Etsy, and The Attic.

When thrifting, be sure to check out the accessories section! You never know what you can find: maybe the perfect belt or even a great designer bag. Finish off your vintage look with something modern, like our Fashionista did with wide leg pants. Also, add a bit of your own personal flair to make your vintage look more you. This Fashionista added those amazing sunglasses and stacked arm jewelry—maybe you’ll add your favorite scarf or purse. Don’t forget to plan out your shoes when going with the vintage look. Nothing is worse than having the most amazing outfit and shoes that totally ruin it.

If you’re up for the challenge, going with a vintage feel is well worth it. So on your next free Saturday be sure to shop your parents closet, go thrifting and re-fashion.
