One thing that always immediately catches my eye when I'm scoping out a new Fashionista — a great maxi skirt. Maxi skirts were all over the streets of Spain this summer and, just as I suspected, have proven to be the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. I love this style in all varieties, from pleats to prints and even tulle like this Fashionista. No matter how you style it, the maxi always seems to come off with a feminine and elegant look in the end. It's quickly proven itself to be a staple piece in every Fashionista’s closet.
Fashionistas can find this trend in all types of styles from the traditional maxi to the high-low look, the midi style and in an array of fabulous dresses like this one from Tobi. This week’s Fashionista was feminine and dressed perfectly for fall in a chiffon midi length. Paired with a simple black flat that was dressed up with a gold chain, she followed the maxi styling rules perfectly. This trend is always easy to style and perfect when you want to throw on something comfortable for class while staying trendy. Try tucking in a simple blouse for a boho look, or add an oversized sweater for those chillier fall days. But remember proportions! With a long look like this and something bulky on top you’ll need a belt to cinch the waist and keep that hourglass shape.
Personally, I love the high-low look with a pair of boots, like these from Urbanog. This look is great for us petite women out there who aren’t quite tall enough to handle the full on maxi!
