If you ever have the fortunate opportunity to visit Barcelona, right near all the most popular chain shops on Las Ramblas you will discover tiny concealed alleys that lead to the hidden gems of Spanish fashion. Here you will find native vendors selling vintage jewelry and just about any piece of clothing your heart desires. Of course this is also where you will find many of the young students, and it’s where I found this Fashionista.
She had a trendy and youthful look about her that caught my eye immediately, which I absolutely loved, but my favorite part had to be her paisley maxi skirt from H&M. I have been seeing the maxi style all over the streets of Valencia, on countless celebs, and on the runways of Michael Kors, Jason Wu and Carolina Herrera. The style is perfect for staying comfortable and practical in the summer as these skirts easily go from day to night, but I also have a feeling it will transition flawlessly into the fall season. Whether it’s pleated, chiffon or classicly simple and feminine, I love all types this summer. Try pairing a maxi with anything from a chunky belt and oversized sweater to a tucked-in and flirty sweetheart corset (like this one from Urban Outfitters).
This Fashionista wore a light-wash denim sleeveless shirt, with a beige cross-body purse by Kate Spade, and a pair of turquoise blue Ray-Ban wayfarers. I love the denim trend that is quickly coming back into style, check out this CollegeFashionista article to see more on that look and where to find some great styles.
From flowy to floral, dress or skirt, I am obsessed with the latest maxi trend. So take advice from this Fashionista! She has a variety of pieces that are easy to mix and match, making them great options for an assortment of outfits this summer.
