STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Transition Boots

Style Advice of the Week

Although it’s technically spring here in Spokane, the weather has yet to show us much warmth. The mornings are chilly and require a jacket, while the afternoons occasionally warm up as the sun attempts to peek out. We yearn to give our skin a much-needed dose of Vitamin D without freezing in the midst.

This Fashionista incorporates fall and spring pieces into the perfect ensemble for a chilly spring day. A thick skirt hitting just about the knees paired with the much-loved Frye boots allow a glimpse of her lean legs while still keeping warm. Since we never know when the rain will hit, her Frye boots prove to be a year-round favorite protecting feet while working well with skirts, jeans and dresses.

Distressed boots like hers are often thought of as casual, but with her short skirt, simple top and high socks, she creates a sophisticated yet chic look for a day of work and class.

For those willing to attempt a trendier version of this look, pair lace shorts with heeled booties and a simple blouse for a day out and about, or boots similar to hers with a floral dress and denim vest for a more western vibe. Although winter has passed, take advantage of your boots all through spring to spice up outfits in an unexpected way.
