Seeing someone in a suit is not a common occurence on a college campus so when I spotted this Fashionisto I knew I had to feature him. I loved how he was able to put his own personal touch on his outfit with the mixing of patterns and texture.
Name: Mills Duodu
Major: Biology and International Studies
Year: Sophomore
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Mills Duodu: I would describe my style as timeless. I dress not according to trends, but according to my lifestyle and mood. I like to experiment with different material, colors, patterns, and styles. I may dress preppy one day and urban the next day. To be succinct, the way I dress now reflects my openness to the concept of fashion and will be exactly the same way I will dress 70 years from now.
CF: Where do you get your style inspiration?
MD: I draw my inspiration from my father who never goes a day without sporting a perfectly tailored Hugo Boss suit and polished shoes, and others like Topman, Joshua Kissi, Travis Gumbs, The Style Blogger and Street Etiquette.
CF: What are you looking forward to wearing this winter?
MD: This winter I am looking forward to experimenting with my UGG, Sebago, Steve Madden and Del Toro in terms of footwear. I am also ecstatic to sport my Burberry and Dolce Gabbana trench coats on top of Topman's winter line of crewnecks, scarfs and button-neck stitched sweaters along with a couple tees from Comme Des Garcons. For chinos and pants and Jeans, whatever J.Crew, Topman, Nudies, UNIQLO and H&M have to offer.
How to: To get this Fashionisto's look start off by getting a nice taliored blazer. This Fashionisto is wearing a Calvin Klein blazer but J.Crew and Brooks Brothers also offers a nice selection of suiting. Finally he sports a tie and pocket square from the French designer Hermes. For another option Mr Porter offers a variety of different designer ties and pocket squares.
