This fall semester I have been really lucky not only to stumble upon impressive Fashionistos but Fashionistos with their own clothing brands. Alongside Jeffery Obeng, Denis is co-owner of one of VCU's hottest local brands to wear, Alter Ego. Like his brand strives to obtain, this Fashionisto likes to wear whatever makes him feel special and wears whatever can enhance that inner strive to be successful. This Fashionisto spills all on his personal style.
Name: Denis Ofuso
Major: Mass Communications
Year: Junior
CollegeFashionista: How would describe your style in three words?
Denis Ofuso: I would have to say like my personality: eye catching, smooth and exuberant.
CF: Where would you say you get your fashion inspiration?
DO: I'm from Northern Virginia or as we like to call it, “NOVA.” The rappers from there, like Wale, have an influence on my style. I love the clean and simple look. It's all about presentation.
CF: What is a common trend in you closet?
DO: I have a lot of Polo Ralph Lauren. A lot!
CF: What fall trends do you love?
DO: I love being able to wear nice jeans, kicks, Polo beanies and jackets!
CF: What are some of your favorite stores to shop in?
DO: I really like Armani Exchange, Ralph Lauren and of course, my own brand Alter Ego.
CF: What style advice do you have to give?
DO: Dress how you feel, get something that you like and be happy in whatever it is you're wearing.
How To: Like this Fashionisto, try straying away from the ever popular '80s inspired print for your sweaters and try a simple, clean and classic crewneck. Just like this Fashionisto's brand Alter Ego, try wearing brands that have a great meaning behind them as well. Brands like Dirgy, Obey and Supreme are all brands that have quality clothes that serve a beneficial purpose. Wearing clothes that you know are made out of good quality, love and are genuine, not only makes the outfit look better but makes you feel better at the same time.
