WEEKEND FORECAST: Spring Staples

Uncategorized

Although new seasons call for new pieces to put a fresh influence on our wardrobe, but sometimes the college budget doesn’t allow for expanding our closets. We all want to stretch a buck or two and this usually means that our wardrobes take the back seat. For this week’s weekend forecast, I have found the best way to save and still look chic. The key is to find a few pieces that can be worn several different ways with your existing spring and summer wardrobes.

This Fashionista shows us how to make spring staples last all season long. There are 4 aspects of her look to focus in on: the classic trench, denim button down, wood heels, and chic sunglasses. Each of these pieces can be worn together like this Fashionista has done here, or pulled apart and made into various fresh new looks. The classic trench is a spring staple that can be worn day or night. I found a great piece at Fossil. Remember you will get the most versatility out of your trench coat if you stick to the traditional tan. A denim button down, like this one seen at Rachel Roy, can be paired with skinny jeans or your summery skirts.

You need something on your feet for your new looks. So, up next are those wood wedges. This Fashionista thrifted her pair of wedges from her mother’s closet. Sharing closets is great, practical dollar saving tip. Get with your friends and swap pieces. You’ll be open to twice the amount of clothing at no cost at all!  Lastly, finish your look off with a chic pair of sunglasses. You cannot go a spring or summer season without a great pair of shades. Accessories are the parts of your outfit you can have the most fun with so don’t limit yourself. Try sunglasses with color or a cool shape. The beauty of this is that sunglasses aren’t a budget buster. I found a great selection at The Sunglass Warehouse and the prices are just right! Take a few tips from this fashion and budget savvy Fashionista, pick up a few spring staples, and maximize your dollars by mixing and matching them with your current wardrobe.
