What are you supposed to do in those transition months, where in the course of a week it could feel like you’re walking on the face of the sun, or deep in the artic circle. Don’t fret, this is the perfect time to have an outfit that can bring in the best of both seasons. Weather you take the layers of the fall with the colors of the summer, or the weightless of a summer dress with a more tame color, this time of the year is meant for fostering creativity and showing just how innovative you are as a Fashionista/o.
This week’s Fashionista took a turquoise summer dress and combined it with some great fall accessories. The length and the color of the dress definitely say, “time for the beach” but the brown leather bag and scarf hints to colder days. Since the in between months are meant for mixing and matching seasons, it’s also great conditions to mix and match pieces. It’s a time to ignore all the rules that you’ve been taught and just go for it. Mix gold and silver or go with black and brown, and never look back. Mixing and matching, whether it's clothing that represents different trends or different seasons, can really enable your personality shine through.
When you really can’t decide if what the weather will permit, opt for layering your clothing so you can take off or add as much as you want, which is a great tool for combining garments from multiple seasons. Another great idea is to try a high-low or “mullet” dress, short in the front long in the back, where you get the summer spirit of a mini in the front and sophisticated fall with a longer skirt in the back; there might be nothing more perfect for the transition days.
