Yes Fashionistas/os, I’m back, back again. It seems so many things have changed in the past few weeks. I’m starting to see my breath when I run in the morning, the city skyline is spotted with beautiful oranges, yellows and reds from foliage and, of course, the new season of fashion is popping up everywhere I turn. I don’t think I could walk by any more Fashionistas or Fashionistos without asking them about their great outfits and not implode.
Sometimes an outfit is born out of one amazing piece and this week’s Fashionisto has just that; it certainly stopped me in my tracks. This is one Fashionisto that may well have had Elvis himself rolling over in the grave, singing to us one last time. These blue suede desert boots are one of my favorite pairs of shoes I've ever seen, period. Blue has had a big moment in recent seasons, from the rise of the blue suits, to colbalt garments and midnight blues used by the biggest watchmakers out there. But the beginnings of the blue may well be traced back to that one special song about that one pair of very special shoes.
Blue suede shoes have the ability to be worn in so many ways and can be the versatile item needed in every Fashionisto's wardrobe. Blues naturally go great with the entire spectrum of browns, like this wool duffle coat, as well as dark reds and other blues, which this Fashionisto epitomizes. These blue suede shoes in particular could be worn anywhere with a pair of old jeans, a crisp pair of chinos, or to dress down a brown suit for a more casual look.
As Elvis said, “You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.”
