STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Boho Spring Break

Style Advice of the Week

After Christmas break, students everywhere started to cross off the days until the next best time of the year, spring break. Spring break could be voted students’ favorite time of the year because after a stressful week, we can finally unwind and relax. For some it may be a relaxing week home or a road trip to somewhere warm where SPF is needed.

This year I could not wait to hit the never-ending sunshine in California. I know a majority of Fashionista/os have trouble keeping their suitcase under 50 pounds. I have to keep in mind I’m only going for a week, not a year. So this time I made it my top goal to make sure my clothing options were more versatile. I packed my bags full of different pieces with many different patterns and colors to make sure I still had choices and kept under the maximum weight.

Don’t let the snow fool you — it’s definitely warmer than it looks and this Fashionista took full advantage by stepping out in appropriate, laidback attire. She knew exactly how to pull together the perfect pieces to rock her uptown, boho look. She kept it relaxed with a hint of dressiness while continuing to feel comfortable. Her spring mustard yellow tank was a perfect touch of girly and a perfect pop of color. It was from Anthropologie and was sold out but any pop of color will complete this adorable look. She threw on her comfy, loose linen pants that could be paired for a relaxed day at the beach or even a casual dinner date. This Fashionista decided to keep it more uptown/dressy looking by slipping on her neutral wedges from PacSun. But the most raved about piece that I couldn’t keep my eyes off of was her vintage, navy blue floppy hat, which was originally sold out at Gap. It was playful yet kept her looking old-fashioned and trendy. She threw on a lightweight, casual cardigan from American Eagle Outfitters over her tank. For a dressier alternative, this versatile tank could be paired under a nice blazer or on its own while dressing up the jewelry. Overall, she looked trendy while keeping things boho-chic, flirty and ready to take on the warm weather with her versatile outfit.
