STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Native Style Goes To School

Style Advice of the Week

This week's fashion advice goes out to all those students who have moved to a different area to attend their dream college. This Fashionista is a native Floridian who moved to New York to fulfill her dreams. One of the most important things that this Floridian brought to New York was her style. Although there's a huge temperature difference between fall weather in Florida and fall in New York, there are many ways one can incorporate the styles of these two very different places.

This Fashionista has the perfect look for a brisk fall day in upstate New York. She's wearing the Wasteland Smell the Daisies Dress along with a navy blue wool men’s sweater from Urban Outfitters. This pairing of clothing brings the perfect match to her Floridian style while keeping with the fall 2012 aspect of New York. When thinking about the Florida fall, many natives stick with the autumn color trends while still wearing the traditional shorter dress due to the warmer weather. No matter where you are in the world, any dress similar to this can perfectly match with a simple sweater.

Like I've said in pervious posts, one must always finish off their outfit with a stylish pair of shoes. Since heels are an important accessory to very Floridians outfit, this Fashionista finished off her ensemble with a pair of black platform boots, which similar pairs can be purchased from NASTY GAL. If platform boots aren't your thing, a pair of brown or navy boots by Steve Madden would look perfect with this outfit.

No matter where life takes you, whether it's a new city, state or even a new country, one must always remember to find ways to incorporate your home style into whatever look you're trying to achieve.
