Name: Annisah Agnew
Major: International studies
Year: Freshman
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Annisah Agnew: I am wearing black American Apparel riding pants, metallic silver shoes from Urban Outfitters, a basket woven purse, an Old Navy metallic bubble vest I found in a thrift store called Unique and a vintage color blocked cowboy styled button-up from a thrift store called Beacon’s Closet. Both thrift stores are located in my hometown, Brooklyn, NY. My rings are made out of African coins.
CF: Who or what inspires your style?
AA: Life. Everything around me from the people I surround myself with to the buildings I walk past inspires me. Fashion means more to me than just putting on clothes but those clothes get developed through how I feel when I wake up and how I want people to feel when they see me.
CF: What are some of you current favorite trends?
AA: I love the dark trend. Everyone’s into black, leather and spikes. It’s dope seeing how different trends transition from one style into another. Also, to see styles repeat from my mother’s generation to now is dope.
CF: If you could raid anyones closet in the world, past present or future, who would it be and why?
AA: Hands down it would be Michael Jackson because his style is timeless. The way he dressed would fit in any time period. From the military jackets, to the vintage tuxedos, I would wear it all.
CF: What does your style say about you?
My style says “Dare to be Different” because I feel like people submit to these trends instead of taking them and creating a trend of their own. That’s why everyone looks the same because everyone is scared to be different. So I try my best to accept my own style and that’s why I always stand out.
How To: This vintage cowboy button up is flawless! Try this white fringe western shirt paired with a dark orange bubble vest similar to Annisah’s. This style of riding pants are very trendy right now. High-waist pants are perfect for drawing in the eye to a small waist line. Add your own bold accessories like Annisah. Finally, to amp up this outfit up try wearing purple Zara Bordeux heels that are a must have.
