Here's How To Actually Wear the Seemingly Unwearable Pantone Color of the Year.

January 12th, 2017 at 2:00am

Every year, PANTONE, the world-renowned authority on all things color and provider of color systems, selects a specific color to represent the following 365 days. Taken directly from their site, the Color of the Year is “a symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” In the fashion world, the PANTONE Color of the Year is often integrated into the many trends and outfits we watch coming down the runway. Bloggers, designers, and celebrities can be seen sporting the “it” shade PANTONE announces right before the beginning of the new year. PANTONE even offers a series of color pairings that people, especially Fashionista/os, can utilize to incorporate the color into their lives (and outfits!).

This year, the PANTONE Color Of The Year is: Greenery. Yes indeed, 2017’s “it” color is a fresh, yellow-green shade that PANTONE describes as a “refreshing and revitalizing shade…symbolic of new beginnings.” Quite fitting for the new year don’t you think? Although green can often thought of as a very overwhelming shade to plan an outfit around, I believe that with a little bit of research and lots of determination, each and every Fashionista/o can create the perfect Greenery look!

Here are a few examples that you can use as inspiration for your next outfit. Despite it’s bold nature, Greenery already seems to have made it’s way into fashion and it looks amazing. Try getting creative and you’d be surprised at how good and refreshing the PANTONE Color of the Year can truly be.
