Five Things You Should Be Doing This Fall But Probably Aren't

October 17th, 2016 at 2:00am

Fall is a wonderful time of year, and personally my favorite season. When I think of fall several things come to mind. You can never go wrong with the traditional activities such as: pumpkin picking, visits to the corn maze and haunted hayrides. But this year we’re making moves and trying new things. Get inspired by some of these not so traditional fall activities!

Have a fall craft day. Let your neighbors know your feeling the fall spirit by creating some fantastic door décor. Try making a fall inspired wreath with your roommate! Also, pick up a few pumpkins, grab some paint and release your inner artist. This is a great way of decorating pumpkins without the mess of cleaning them out (yuck!)

Host a fall cooking party. If you want to opt for indoor activities try searching Pinterest for the cutest fall treats you can find! One of the recipes that I am most excited to try is for these apple cider doughnut holes. Also, anything involving candy corn is a must!

Go on a hike to take in the fall scenery. One of the many things fall has to offer is the perfect weather! Take advantage of it. Grab a friend a go hiking in your nearest park. Make sure to bring your camera along for an impromptu fall photo-shoot.

Support your local football team, or form your own. It’s football season everyone, and even if you’re not into sports (like me) you can still have a enjoyable time on the field or off! Make an appearance in the student section at your schools next home game, or even organize your own game of flag football with your friends.

Taste-test a PSL from every local coffee shop. Pumpkin spice lattés may be considered “basic,” but I don’t care and neither should you! They are an essential fall drink. This fall take a detour from your typical Starbucks PSL and create your own coffee tour with your Guru Gang! Make a list of your favorite shops and take a day to try the pumpkin spice from each one!

These are all guaranteed ways to make the most of the season. Try to mix them in with some of your own fall traditions for an unforgettable year!
