People often seem to underestimate shoelaces. Not only do they serve a functional purpose, but they can also act as an added accessory. Take this Fashionista for instance; her overall look is comprised of neutral and soft colors except for her shocking neon pink shoelaces (and matching Nike swoosh). The punch of pink not only contrasts with her soft pastel hat, but also adds an added kick to her look. Nothing says you have to dress head to toe in neon to stand out while you work out. If you have run to class before the gym, throw a hat over a lose braid and add a bold watch or bracelet. Take a cue from this Fashionista, and dress casual with a twist.

CollegeFashionista: Do you think wearing gym clothes to class helps motivate you to actually go to the gym?
Katherine Stewart: I think that wearing gym clothes to class definitely gives that extra bit of motivation to go to the gym. If you're already ready to go to the gym, it saves you time from going back home and changing where you're likely to get distracted by other things.
CF: How do you normally “dress-up” your workout attire?
Katherine Stewart: If I have my hair pulled back or braided, I like to throw in a bow or throw on a baseball cap. It adds touch and makes everything look a little less plain. I also wear a little bit of jewelry, which is easy to take off once you're at the gym.
CF: What's your favorite outfit to wear while working out?
Katherine Stewart: I, like most other girls, like Nike running shorts paired with an over-sized T-shirt. It's generic but it’s pretty comfy!
CF: What's your favorite not so healthy food to indulge in?
Katherine Stewart: My favorite not so healthy food would have to be anything covered in caramel — whether it's ice cream, brownies, etc.!
