FASIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Cindy Vo

Fashionista Spotlight

College allows you to push the fashion limits and try things you never imagined you could. This cool kid confidently models a colorful hair-do while studying in the library courtyard. Bold and beautiful, this Fashionista caught everyone’s eye and looked trendy, yet stayed true to her personal style.

Name: Cindy Vo

Year: Sophomore

Major: Studio Art

CollegeFashionista: What is one of your favorite current trends?

Cindy Vo: I love bib necklaces. It’s so much easier to play up my shirts with them since most of my shirts are usually solid black and not very intricate.

CF: Tell us about your outfit today.

CV: This was thrown together in a rush, but the shirt was actually a sweater in its former life.

CF: Who are some of your fashion icons?

CV: I am the most heavily influenced by the musicians I listen to. I love looks from the leather street-style of California influenced by The Neighbourhood to the ’50s British rockabilly style of the Arctic Monkeys.

CF: Describe your style in three words.

CV: Lots. Of. Black.

CF: What should every Fashionista have in their closet?

CV: Any jewelry, clothing or shoes that makes them feel [awesome] and know they look fantastic doing so.

How To: An all black outfit is always the best go-to. On mornings when you need to get ready quick but still want your outfit to pack a punch, it is important to wear what you know works! A simple pair of black high-waisted shorts pairs nicely with a quirky graphic crop top. This Fashionista is boldly rocking purple and pink hair with her monochromatic ensemble. If you are not ready to dedicate yourself to dyed locks, try semi-permanent hair chalk for a little flare of color.
