Fashionisto Spotlight

I know most guys don’t want to admit they care about their fashion sense, but honestly, it would be a breath of fresh air if they did. When it comes to men’s style, most don’t want to be perceived as trying too hard, because acting like you genuinely care about something is SO overrated. As for the gentlemen who like to showcase their personal style, don’t worry boys, you haven’t gone unnoticed. While it would definitely hold true that there wouldn’t be near enough space to list every woman fashion blogger, we have to remember that numbers don’t always win wars, and ladies, we have some competition in the blogging world.

Name: Matt Barr

Major: Computer Science

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Who are your style icons?

Matt Barr: Good question. There’s this one guy, Funferekeniy Koroye. I feel like I’ve never seen anything like that before. I like his style, it’s not really different but he pulls it off well.

CF: What are the staple pieces in your wardrobe?

MB: I guess Ronnie Fieg red Ralph Lauren Polo boots and a flat bottom knit skinny tie.

CF: Where do you get most of your inspirations from?

MB: Blogs on the internet.

CF: Who’s your favorite blogger?

MB: Fusion Kevlar

CF: Do you think it’s easier as a guy or girl to express your personal style?

MB: I don’t know if it’s necessarily easier for either one. There are two things: it might be easier for guys because less guys care about it or dressing nice, so it stands out; for girls it seems easier because they can do a lot more with accessories and all that.

How To: This week’s Fashionisto isn’t new to the fashion blogging scene. I love when people can recommend sites, and having a guy suggest one to me was definitely a first.
