Fashionisto Spotlight

Here at Bing, guys tend to brave the brisk winter air more aptly than us girls do. On days when we drown ourselves in layers, they bare all in shorts and a pullover. So it was no surprise when I spotted this Fashionisto rocking a T-shirt and Sperry Topsider's in early December.

Kyle Ross looks dapper for a day of classes in his cool blue V-neck and stone gray cargo pants. This Fashionisto’s preppy topsiders and brown leather belt exude tasteful sophistication, standing apart from a more casually dressed male population. He even sports the ultimate winter accessory: a Burberry scarf in soft, neutral shades.

Name: Kyle Ross

Major: Undeclared

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: What does your style say about you?

Kyle Ross: I'm able to express myself through what I wear. I like to keep up with trends, but also go against them so that I can have my own unique style.

CF: Describe your signature winter look.

KR: It would consist of a black V-neck tee, khaki pants, boat shoes and a military jacket.

CF: In your opinion, what are the best and worst male fashion trends?

KR: The best fashion trend is the more professional look: button-down shirts, plaid skinny ties and a slimmer outfit as a whole. It makes guys look more put together and sophisticated. The worst fashion trend has to be really low cut neck shirts. Those just confuse me.

How To: For the Fashionisto who wants to amp up his look in time for the end-of-month festivities, invest in crisp basics like a bright tee, chinos and a pair of boat shoes. Not only is this ensemble suitable for class, but also fitting for a nice dinner. With a plaid scarf and solid cardigan, you will look just as trim as your family's Christmas tree. Happy holidays!
