With a display of fall trends, a sense of polish and a dash of personality, this week’s fantastic Fashionisto exhibits a combination of what style is truly all about. This display of individuality and use of current trends is embodied in this Fashionisto’s look. A sense of winter ruggedness is evident in his classic brown leather shoes as well as his statement sweater. The heavy material is perfect for the season, particularly as the last remnants of a November snowstorm melt away. The intricate blue patterning directly beneath the shoulders is interesting and immediately draws the eye. The rich blues of the sweater are perfectly complement the blue checkered button-down. Besides the interplay of cool colors, the button-down serves to add an air of professionalism, while the sweater gives the look a casual relaxed vibe. The brown leather belt and beige corduroys serve as the neutral base of the outfit and balance out the top pieces with warmer, richer tones.
Name: Alex Sarabia
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Alex Sarabia: I think it is professional but casual. I wear a lot of cords and jeans with button-downs or sweaters.
CF: Who are your fashion influences?
AS: I would choose Matthew McConaughey and Roberto Carlos, who was my high school government teacher. Everyone used to think I looked like him and he was always dressed really well and professional.
CF: What is a staple piece in your wardrobe?
AS: Definitely my Ray-Ban eyeglasses. I think they make me look intellectual.
CF: What are some of your current favorite trends?
AS: Well it is sweater season! I have a bunch of sweaters, like the one I am wearing today, for this time of year in Boston.
CF: What are your favorite stores to shop in?
AS: I like Nordstrom a lot, especially when they have their half-yearly sale. I also like Levi’s and Brooks Brothers.
