This week’s Fashionisto was spotted heading to his job at the beautiful and very crowded Bapst library. A pairing of boots, pants and a button-down creates a classic foundation for his look. Through prints, fabrics and small style touches, this Fashionisto takes a polished look and adds a casual, effortless vibe. The beige and blue color palette is calm and sleek while winter boots, cords and a checkered pattern all enhance otherwise simple elements. A silver and gold watch aligns with the professional put together feel of the outfit, but cuffed sleeves keep the look laidback and appropriate for long days in the library. With a combination of classic pieces styled in casual ways, this Fashionisto takes on preppy with a personal edge.

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Alan Lipchin: My personal style is definitely preppy, but no overly so. I am in the business school so I tend to dress professional, but I can still be casual.

AL: I would have to say my style is influenced by my East Coast background and also the other people on campus. I go to a lot of company presentations on campus and meeting professionals helps influence my attire for internships and such.

AL: Definitely sweaters for winters in Boston.
CF: What are some of your current favorite trends?
AL: I guess you can tell from what I am wearing, but definitely cords. I also wear a ton of button-downs.

AL: I shop mostly at J.Crew, Vineyard Vines and Banana Republic.
