Amid the BC apparel that characterizes many boys as the cold weather sets in, I spotted this week’s Fashionisto’s sleek and effortless style. This Fashionisto is an exchange student who caught my attention with his polished look and, let’s be honest, that accent! With November officially underway, a balance between warm clothes and late fall style must be carefully achieved. This Fashionisto does so brilliantly with his choice of colors and layering. A gray T-shirt, checkered button-down and tailored brown jacket create dynamic layers of color and texture. A pair of classic jeans, cuffed slightly atop his brown leather shoes suggests ease as well as sophistication. A distinctly European urbaneness mixed with a rugged American ease creates a look worthy of this week’s spotlight.
Name: Akash Sikka
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Akash Sikka: I would say it’s pretty standard. I wear jeans with a T-shirt or button-down most days to class.
CF: Who are your fashion influences?
AS: A lot of my inspiration comes from my good friend, Tom Willman. Luckily enough, I get to live with him this year. Tom searches a ton of different websites and finds good ideas and places to shop. So I often listen to his advice.
CF: What are your current favorite trends?
AS: Well I really like all the button-downs for this time of year. The flannel ones, like I am wearing today, are really good as well.
CF: What is a staple piece in your wardrobe?
AS: I would have to say a lot of the things Tom chooses. I just recently got some great jeans with him and I wear them constantly.
CF: What are some of your favorite stores to shop in?
AS: My favorite would have to be ASOS.
