Name: Van Crawford
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Van Crawford: I would describe it as innovative. I like to do things that other people normally wouldn’t. It’s like having a trendsetter’s mindset but not really trying to set trends, just genuinely enjoying trying different things.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
VC: I really enjoy online shopping because of the variety and I also like thrift stores. I feel like a good shopper can find something anywhere.
CF: When did you first discover your personal style?
VC: I’ve always cared about my appearance ever since I was young. When I got to high school I just really started noticing and trying different things with my style. Then when I got to college my fashion sense just heightened.
CF: If you could splurge on one thing what would it be?
VC: I would definitely splurge on shoes. I love shoes that aren’t limited to one season.
CF: What’s one piece of style advice you would like to give to others?
VC: I like to tell people that you should always try to say something different with your outfits, try to say something different every single day.
How To: Bold patterns and fabrics look great on top of all black! To achieve this Fashionisto’s look, start with a basic black T-shirt and Levi’s denim. Set the look off with an eccentric blazer or vest for the perfect back to school look that will be sure to capture everyone’s attention.
