It’s always great to see a guy who can pull off a simple and casual look, but who also effortlessly shows a sense of his own style. I spotted this Fashionisto on campus outside the image arts building. He was wearing pieces that worked really well together: his layers on top, his comfy pair of boots, his colorful messenger bag and his infinity scarf.
Name: Rodney Pineda
Major: Graphic Communications Management
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Rodney Pineda: I would describe my style as comfortable. I like wearing anything that makes me feel good about myself, although, I usually dress according to the weather. One day you’ll see me dressing urban and business-like, yet other days you will see me wearing sweatpants and a sweater.
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
RP: Sweatpants, a white shirt and comfy sweaters.
CF: Where do you get your style inspiration?
RP: My style inspiration comes from my friends, family, media and random people I see. Toronto has definitely impacted what I choose to wear.
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid and why?
RP: I would love to raid Keone Madrid’s closet, he’s one of my favorite choreographers. Everything he wears, when it comes to dance or just a casual look, looks amazing and comfortable.
CF: Where do you like to shop?
RP: I find myself always at Topman, Urban Outfitters and H&M. I realize that I find many items that catch my attention.
How To: Start off with a basic white T-shirt and a comfy grey cardigan. Then, throw together a dark grey wool coat, a pair of khakis and dark brown lace-up boots. Finish off this outfit with a canvas messenger bag and a navy blue scarf.
