FASHIONISTO SPOTLIGHT: Nate Adams

Fashionisto Spotlight

About a year and a half ago, I discovered the infinite playground of Pinterest. I remember browsing the different categories, and I decided to look at men’s fashion. This was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I had never been exposed to the intricacy and vastness of the world of men’s fashion. Men’s fashion is so different than women’s fashion and presents a totally different set of styles, fits, accessories, materials and designers. It is important for women have a basic knowledge of men’s wear, because sometimes your man may need some help in the fashion department. If you have yet to acquaint yourself with men’s fashion, I highly encourage you do so, because there’s nothing better than a well-dressed man.

With that said, I would like to introduce the very first Fashionisto I have reported on! This week’s Fashionisto is looking very dapper in his white button-up and black vest. In men’s fashion, the fit of clothing is very important, especially when it comes to suits, sport coats, dress shirts and so on. The vest fits his torso very well, which makes him look clean cut. I also love his black and beige leather shoes; they accent his outfit, because they match his vest and khakis. I think he looks like a perfect gentleman.

Name: Nate Adams

Major: Math and History

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: When going out on a Friday night, what do you like to wear?

Nate Adams: It depends on where I’m going, but khakis and a V-neck are my go-to.

CF: Do you have anyone in particular that inspires your style?

NA: Not particularly, but I get told I look good in certain clothes, so I like to wear those clothes so that I always look good.

CF: What is your favorite thing to wear when you dress up?

NA: When I dress up I like to wear vests or collared shirts, and day-to-day I love wearing V-necks and cargo shorts— especially when the weather is nice.

How To: To be as dashing as this Fashionisto, embrace your inner gentleman, and throw on a vest. Also, combined neutral colors. The black, white and beige make this look very classic. Finally, don’t neglect the shoes! I can’t tell you how many times I have seen men dress similar to this, and then they have tennis shoes on—that is a big no. Shoes are what really tie the outfit together, and they’re fun because you can have very classic pieces of clothing on and make the shoes more modern.
