FASHIONISTO SPOTLIGHT: Jake DeNicola

Fashionisto Spotlight

This Fashionisto pulls his outfit together with an array of unique items. First off, his Topman button-down is a wild addition of pattern and color, which really expresses the versatility in this Fashionisto’s wardrobe. The color-blocked pocket on his button-down is an extremely popular trend and this Fashionisto really rocks the look. His bold Supreme corduroy jacket serves as a youthful and fun statement piece for the back of his outfit. His jacket and Filson backpack create the perfect combination of maturity and youth. This Fashionisto also rocks some classic and original Clarks shoes, which are perfect for events both casual and professional.

Name: Jake DeNicola

Major: Anthropology

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Jake DeNicola: I like to mix and match. I try to match more of my earlier articles of clothing, which were more skate culture-oriented, with some of my more recent interests, which are a bit more mature and refined.

CF: How does Skidmore College influence the way you dress?

JD: There is a large community at Skidmore, which seems to dress more conservatively than I’m used to, but then again there are a lot of people who dress at the other end of that spectrum. I don’t think it has influenced me too much. I think my style is more influenced by where I am mentally.

CF: Who/what are your favorite designers/brands and why?

JD: Lately, I’ve been really into this Levi Brand Jeans vintage revitalization store, which basically remakes retro Levi Brand Jeans clothing. I also love Carhartt, James Perse for his T-shirts and sometimes Supreme.

CF: What is your must-have spring item?

JD: I always bring out my jean jacket and snapback baseball hats in the spring.

How To: To create a look similar to this Fashionisto’s, try wearing a varsity jacket. They’re classic and perfect for spring weather. Accessorize with a unique baseball cap and be creative by wearing a patterned shirt.
