I cannot stress how incredibly happy I am that the weather is slowly transitioning from hot and humid to cool and crisp. Today was chilly and overcast and Fashionistas/os all over campus definitely noticed. There were so many people I wanted to photograph and it was obvious that my classmates were enjoying the weather as much as I was. This particular Fashionisto created an outfit that really felt like a reflection of the beginning of the autumn season. His orange short sleeve button-down adds just the right amount of color to his played down and casual look. My favorite part is how the combination of his navy pants plays up his button-down as more of a fall piece than a summer one. Read on to learn more:
Name: Jacob Teich
College Fashionista: What inspire your look today?
Jacob Teich: The fall weather, especially the temperature. It was cool enough for pants but too hot for long sleeves.
CF: Where is your favorite place to shop for college friendly budget pieces of clothing?
JT: Thrift stores are one of my favorite places. Most people don’t understand that you just have to look and that’s when you find the good stuff.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
CF: What is your staple accessory?
JT: Hats, for sure.
How To: Create your own seasonal fall to summer outfit (this works for the ladies too). Start with the pants, the key here is to find dark neutrals: blacks, navys, grays, etc. They can be skinny or more loose, each will add a different dynamic to your look. Next, try to stick with darker colors for the shoes too. Our Fashionisto today went for a more skater look, but dark Sperry Top-Siders or Converse will work as well! And now for the best part: the button-down. If you’re looking for a different version of Jacob’s awesome Ralph Lauren button-down (which is currently on sale) you can try H&M or Zara. Make sure when you’re buying the shirt that it reflects the wonderful colors of fall!
