The fabric for blazers has become so versatile and thus the places to wear these stylish jackets go beyond business meetings and professional interviews. The Style Forum has a great discussion talking about what is the best fabric for summer blazers. Overstock has a great article about men’s blazers, so all of you Fashionistos should definitely check it out! But for now, let’s see how this Fashionisto styled his summer blazer and more about his personal style.
Name: David Shah
CollegeFashionista: Where did you get each piece of your outfit?
David Shah: My gray blazer is from Uniqlo in New York City, but my shorts and red tee are from the jersey shore outlets.
CF: If you could have anyone’s wardrobe who would it be and why?
DS: David Beckham. I’m a huge futbol fan being a previous goalkeeper and all. He has great style both on and off the field. I also think that Justin Timberlake always looks fresh, so I wouldn’t mind having his wardrobe.
CF: Where do you look for fashion inspiration?
DS: Movies and TV shows, the ones targeting my generation. I can’t think of any in particular but generally any type of entertainment that is teenage-oriented. I also really like window shopping and checking out the trends on College Avenue Campus at Rutgers. There are so many different types of students at Rutgers and College Ave is the place to see different styles and trends that RU students are wearing.
CF: Describe your style in three words.
DS: Sharp, clean and relaxed.
How To: For a clean-cut Shah style, start with a dark maroon tee and light blue shorts. Add on a gray blazer and simple silver chain necklace. Don’t forget a black watch and finish off the look with a pair of Sperry Top-Siders. They have nine color combinations of these Bahama boat shoes for men.
