You can’t help but notice a boy in a bow tie. I spotted this Fashionisto, on a sunny day on campus, in a perfect outfit for this season. I loved how he brought together such warm tones and timeless pieces–from his maroon trousers and caramel coat to his boots and rustic leather backpack. He caught my eye with his classically tailored look and put-together style.
Name: Daniel Drak
Major: Fashion Communications
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Daniel Drak: Casual, eclectic prep!
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
DD: Brown brogues, white Oxford shirts, a peacoat, white T-shirts and statement accessories. A watch and glasses.
CF: Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
DD: Tumblr, it’s all about Tumblr. Particularly, something like Coffee & the Newspaper.
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid and why?
DD: I know it’s kind of sacrilegious to say this, but I’d want to raid the communal closets of One Direction. Those boys have the best clothing. Their stylist needs to be paid a lot more for elevating a simple boy band to a group who has a definitive, timeless style.
CF: What are some of your favourite menswear trends this season?
DD: My favourite trend is definitely colour blocking, and lots of it. Men are always so skeptical of colour, so I am thrilled to see how big it’s becoming.
CF: If money weren’t an issue, what one item would you love to splurge on?
DD: Every Burberry trench coat in every colour.
How To: Start off with a basic white Oxford shirt and a light grey cardigan. Add a pair of maroon trousers, a camel-coloured peacoat and a pair of dark brown boots. Then, throw on a brown leather backpack and complete the look with a sharp grey bow tie.
