This has definitely been the coldest winter that I have ever experienced in Hampton, Virginia. Within these last couple weeks, it snowed more than I knew was possible in this city. This also resulted in the first time my classes have been ever been canceled because of snow. Luckily this week, as the snow has practically all melted, students can finally venture out again without a fear of slipping on ice on their way to class. After finally getting back into school mode after our days off, I ran into this effortlessly stylish Fashionisto on campus, whose humble and mellow personality just makes him that much cooler.
Name: Chris Henry
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Chris Henry: I’d have to say my style is a bit hipster yet conservative at times.
CF: What’s your number one go to item in your wardrobe?
CH: Definitely my vans because they just go with everything I wear. I think they also look cooler the more worn they are; it kind of makes people wonder where you’ve been to get your shoes to look that crazy.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
CH: Banana Republic, thrift stores, American Apparel and UNIQLO.
CF: Where do you find your style inspiration?
CH: I kind of just do whatever I want. I’ll wear whatever makes me feel cool, it doesn’t matter what it is. I dig a lot of those old sweaters and jackets you can find in the thrift stores but other than the thrift I like to grab a lot of Banana Republic stuff.
CF: If you could shop in any city, where would it be and why?
CH: Probably Sioux, South Dakota because of the heavy Native American influence. They also have the best threads in my opinion.
How To: This Fashionisto has pretty much mastered the cool and laid back look. If you’re feeling inspired, think about adding this similar parka from Urban Outfitters. You can purchase some great slim fit denim from American Apparel and complete your outfit with an awesome snapback.
