Floral, tribal, animal, houndstooth or polka-dots; you name it, you can flaunt it. Patterns and prints are all the rage this summer and there are plenty to choose from. They’re a fun way to jazz up a simple outfit without having to wear a ton of accessories, and with this heat, less is definitely more. This Fashionisto keeps his outfit monochromatic with black and white accessories to balance out his crazy patterned shirt. Substitute sneaks for sandals and his look is perfect for a summer day at the pool. He completes his outfit with a hat and shades to keep the beautiful sun out of his eyes. Live life on the edge and try a daring new pattern this summer just like this Fashionisto did!
Name: Brandyn Schiedel
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Brandyn Schiedel: I’m wearing Nike Air Jordan shorts and my shirt is from my uncle. My shoes are the Nike Lebron X Lavas and my snapback hat is from my childhood.
CF: How would you describe your style?
BS: I go for comfort, but I also like to wear things that stand out to me.
CF: What inspired your outfit?
BS: I liked the shirt because it’s wacky and white shorts go with anything. I usually always like to wear a hat and it was sunny out, so I had to pull out the shades.
CF: Where do you like shop?
BS: I like to shop at thrift stores because I don’t like to spend a lot on clothes and I can find crazy pieces that I haven’t seen anywhere else. On special occasions I like to shop at the outlets, mainly at Nike.
CF: Who’s your style icon?
BS: I really don’t have one but if I had to pick someone’s style that stands out to me I’d pick Wiz Khalifa just because he’s known for dressing pretty crazy. He definitely has his own style.
How To: To emulate this Fashionisto’s zany ensemble try this button-down from Urban Outfitters. If that’s a little too colorful, this button-down is a little mellower. For the snapback, check your local thrift store and finish off the look with any matching shorts.
