This native Fashionisto of Springfield, Illinois prides himself on being different when it comes to his wardrobe. This vivacious soul is a second year merchandiser for the SpelHouse Homecoming Fashion Show. Artimeaus is very active with marketing, ministry, student activities, community service and mentorship organizations on campus. This Fashionisto is well on his way to achieving his dreams of being a stylist for GQ. One of his recent styling accomplishments included having the pleasure of styling the cover of the Kappa Alpha Psi Journal (the official magazine of the fraternity).
Name: Artimeaus Moore
Major: Business Administration Concentration in Marketing
CollegeFashionista: Who and/or what inspires your style?
Artimeaus Moore: Honestly, I’d like to think that my style is something that has been gifted from above and a higher power instills a fashion sense into my head that can only be expressed through him. However, I do look at magazine such as GQ [and] Men’s Vogue and have a style flip board on my SG3 that keeps me current. But for the most part, my style is eclectic and is not something that [can be] duplicated.
CF: What is your thought process when styling for a fashion show?
AM: My initial thought is to keep everything very young, fresh and futuristic even if that entails looking back into what’s already been done in fashion. My next step would be making sure that it’s eye candy to the fashion lovers. This includes color that will catch the eye and also includes taking the blinders off the simple minded people. Following that is making sure that everything is fitted, even if it oversized clothing, a garment needs to be fitted in the dopest way possible.
CF: What are your favorite stores to shop in?
AM: I have a soft spot for Zara. What more can I say, the things that created by Zara are for the men that aren’t afraid to take chances and that’s me. Other than that, there’s no other stores that speaks to me in such a way that causes me to melt. I’m a lover of fashion, so whatever looks good to me I’ll grab with later intentions to turn it out in the best way possible. It can go from the thrift store all the way to up to Niemen Marcus, it’s all about what your mind creates after you have it in your hand.
CF: Do you have any male fashion tips you would like to share with the readers?
AM: Yes, young Fashionistos remember when wearing a suit that you should always have it tailor fitted to your body type.
How To: For this sophisticated look, try wearing a brown dress shirt with velvet rusted brown tassel loafers. Pair this with a matching deep blue tie and Zara Trousers. If you want a vintage leather medicine bag like Artimeaus’ go here. Like this Fashionisto, wear a khaki color double-breast trench coat, these flip up John Lennon style shades and then add an English cap and you’re done!
