FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Sara Robson

Fashionista Spotlight

Tis the season to sport some serious scarlet red! From Taylor Swift’s new hit album to the giant glitter bows that are starting to adorn every staircase in sight, red is definitely the color of the season. Known for its bold statement and passionate connotation, red is a fashion risk we all should be willing to take. I spotted this Fashionista strutting around the Communication building in some head-turning red skinny jeans and warm winter accessories. Exuding a cool feminine vibe, she shows us all how to ease a little holiday spirit into our everyday wardrobe.

Name: Sara Robson

Major: Merchandising

Year: Senior

College Fashionista: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

Sara Robson: I get all of my style inspiration from Pinterest these days! There’s so much to look at on there and I always get great ideas for new outfits and accessories.

CF: What’s your go-to outfit in the winter?

SR: My signature outfit for the colder months is definitely some leggings, riding boots, oversized sweater and a super chunky, warm scarf.

CF: How do you keep your outfits interesting without spending a ton of money?

SR: Accessories are key, especially on a college budget! A new bag, scarf or piece of jewelry can spice up any outfit and keep your wardrobe exciting without having to spend a lot. One new luxury item per season is ideal!

CF: What do you think of the trends on campus right now?

SR: I really love all the layering I’m seeing! I personally love to layer different sweaters and tops and pair them with an oversized scarf. It’s a cute and comfortable look that’s perfect for a typical chilly day in Flag!

How To: Rock a fun seasonal look like this Fashionista’s by sporting some major statement skinnies. Use Sara as your style inspiration and build your outfit on a pair of bright red jeans. Add a white button-down and chunky gray infinity scarf for a comfy, relaxed vibe. In true Fashionista form, offset this typical day-to-day getup with an edgy pair of heeled motorcycle boots. Mimic this Fashionista and stash all your textbooks in a chic oversize Coach satchel. Top it all off with some sparkly friendship bracelets, and you’re good to go! Whether you’re rocking some crimson lipstick or channeling your inner Dorothy by sporting some sparkly ruby stilettos, incorporating some hints of red into your wardrobe is the best way to stay bold this winter. After all, a lady in red never goes unnoticed!
