This Fashionista proves that art school is definitely a place to start defining your personal style. The unique detailing and awesome stories behind each item in her outfit made Rosemary's look one that I definitely wanted to put in the Spotlight.

Name: Rosemary Glidden

Major: Painting

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?

Rosemary Glidden: I am wearing jeans, red suede sneakers, a cloth belt, a patterned t-shirt, a coat, a backpack and red fingerless gloves. Pretty much everything was a thrift store find except for the gloves which were from Forever 21.

CF: How would you describe your personal style?
RG: Colorful but unrefined.

CF: Who do you look to for fashion inspiration?
RG: I hate to say this but probably my little sister. She's the most stylish person I know.

CF: What’s your fall/winter must have item?
RG: I'm rather fond of fingerless gloves because they keep your hands warm while allowing you full use of your hands. Also, they make you look cool.

CF: How many times a day do you change outfits?
RG: It depends on what I'm doing that day. I think my record is five times but normally it is just once or twice.

CF: What fashion item can you not live without?
RG: Earrings, because they are beautiful.

How To: When shopping, look for the most interesting pieces possible. Try your local flea market or artists' bazaar. This week MassArt is having its annual Holiday Sale, with handmade jewelry and gifts available for purchase. Events like this make it super easy to find really interesting accessories and clothing at affordable prices, which is especially important if you're on a college student budget, like me.
