Returning home to Massachusetts after a semester in Miami is always bittersweet. As thrilled as I am to return home to my family, friends, homecooked meals, a clean house and my comfy queen bed, there is always the dread of returning to the cold, bitter weather. It can be easy to fall into a rut of wearing leggings, an oversized sweater and boots every single day.
This week's Fashionista proves that your winter wardrobe doesn't have to be as drab as the weather. Junior Melissa Pesaturo of Stonehill College was seen boutique shopping in the center of my hometown, Andover, Massachusetts. I must admit that this Fashionista is more than just a stylish figure on the sidewalk. I have been best friends with her since the beginning of high school. Since then, we have been partners in fashionable crime. As self-proclaimed “Maxxinistas,” we frequent bargain stores such as T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Together we prove that style doesn't have to break the bank!
Her mint green sweater provides a refreshing contrast to the gloomy sky. She keeps the outfit casual with jeans but adds a bit of wild flair with leopard print flats. This Fashionista tops off the look with the quintessential statement necklace.
