Fashionista Spotlight

Olive green and black is one of my favorite color combinations to be worn during the fall season. I love the way this Fashionista is able to stay comfy and fashionisable while still staying true to her style.

Name: Lynn Nguyen

Major: Visual Studies with a minor in Consumer Psychology

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: Where do you get your style inspirations?

Lynn Nguyen: I mostly get my inspiration from magazines, watching runway, shows, and students around my campus. Since, I am a visual studies major, I get inspired by art and great design. I really love Rodarte's line. They are always beautifully creative and innovative while still holding onto a whimsical femininity.

I really admire great tailoring and workmanship. For example, Sarah Burton has an incredible talent for creating pieces that are couture but still well constructed, a la her spring 2013 RTW line for Alexander Mcqueen.

CF: What are you looking foward to wearing this winter?

LN: I have just bought a pair of high heeled booties that I am so excited to wear this winter. Also, I love fluffy scarves and sweaters to layer on top of outfits.

CF: What is your one must have item for your closet?

LN: This may sound quite bland, but I think that every girl should have a pair of black pumps. They go with almost every outfit and are appropriate for almost every occasion.

How To: To get this Fashionista's look, start off by getting an olive cardigan. Both Ralph Lauren and ASOS offer olive cardigans that can either be dressed up or down depending on your mood. Then look to Urban Outfitters and TOBI for the perfect black skirt for this fall.
