I always love the first snow of the year. It's exciting, beautiful and most of all everyone brings out their new winter wardrobe! All around campus there are new scarves, hats, coats and boots. Not only do students love to show off their new snowy weather clothing but it gets so cold that a light jacket doesn’t even help anymore. This Fashionista has a warm comfortable ensemble that will keep her protected from the weather yet still remain a stylish fashion student.
Name: Lauren Hirschorn
Major: Fashion Merchandising
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Lauren Hirschorn: My style is a mixture of so many things. I like to see what's trending and put an unusual spin on it. Some days I may dress classy with pearls and polos, and other days I may be a little edgier with boots and a leather jacket. It all depends on my mood that day.
CF: What are your winter wardrobe essentials?
LH: My winter wardrobe essentials are: A fluffy scarf, a good pair of boots, leggings, and of course a big comfy sweater and my fur hooded jacket.
CF: What are your favorite cold weather accessories?
LH: I absolutely love hats. I don't really wear them that often but I really enjoy them when I do.
CF: Where's your favorite place to shop for outerwear?
LH: I normally shop at Forever 21, random mom and pop shops or boutiques for outerwear, like accessories and such.
CF: Who's your favorite designer?
LH: My favorite designer, I'd have to say, I really love Christian Dior simply because he changed the way women viewed fashion.
CF: Where do you get your style inspiration?
LH: I find style inspiration from every girl on campus I see. I mean Marist is a pretty fashionable campus and I love to see what other students are creating and putting together, and I try to add my own spin on what I see.
CF: What's your favorite winter trend for this year?
LH: My favorite winter trend is by far the knit headbands. Literally all girls are rocking some form of it and I think it's definitely a step up from earmuffs.
