I remember from the beginning of grade school that finding the perfect backpack was crucial. It needed to hold all my books yet still show my personality and stand out from the sea of Jansports. This Fashionista's backpack was the first thing to catch my eye. The bleached jean material popped against all the warm autumn colors from the trees and the typical black college over the shoulder carry all. It didn't hurt that the rest of her outfit was well cordinated for a chilly December morning.

Major: Secondary Education in Science–-emphasis on Chemistry
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Jordan Denninger: Today I’m wearing a knit top and leather lace up flats that I thifted, high-waist pants from H&M and a Merona sweater jacket. My bag is vintage and I purchased it from Etsy.com.
CF: What inspires your style?
JD: My style is mostly influenced by my love for vintage clothing and accessories. I also like a style that’s versatile and fun. I enjoy standing out without calling too much attention to myself.
CF: Are there any items you plan on purchasing for the fall/winter season?
JD: For the fall/winter season I plan on purchasing a couple of accent jackets or cardigans, a knit infinity scarf and material to sew a circle denim skirt similar to one I found on modcloth.com.
How to: Casual dressing doesn’t have to mean lazy dressing. Colorful denim and the right accessories can add character to any outfit. When in doubt, add a bright knit under muted colors. Try looking at places such as Madewell and J.Crew for great, colorful knits. Pair with oxfords or booties instead the usual Ugg boots or tennis shoes to polish off the look!
