It seems as though Toronto has switched into winter mode, getting students to break out the heavy coats, thick scarves and boots. I spotted this Fashionista on a chilly afternoon on campus looking warm and stylish. I love how she pairs contrasting textures, creating a perfect edgy meets Parisian chic look.
Name: Caryn Ceolin
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Caryn Ceolin: I like to describe my style as a mix of Grey Gardens grunge and Parisian chic.
CF: What should every Fashionista have in her closet?
CC: Every Fashionista should have a great leather jacket. Not only is it a classic piece, but the leather will age differently for everyone, adding personal character to the garment.
CF: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
CC: I get my fashion inspiration from the pages of Elle, Zink, W Magazine and any gothic romantic art and photography.
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid?
CC: I would kill to raid the closets of Mary Kate and Ashley and Margherita Missoni—they define everything I wish to emulate!
CF: What is your favourite part about fall fashion?
CC: Everything! The colours, the layering, the fabrics—fall fashion is the ultimate.
How To: Start off with a comfy long-sleeved shirt and add a shaggy sherpa or faux fur type of jacket. Then throw on either black skinny jeans or leather leggings and a killer pair of black patent leather combat boots. Finish it off with a grey toque and a classy leather tote.
