With the first snow of the Christmas season descending upon Chestnut Hill, Fashionistas and Fashionistos bundled up in style! This week’s Fashionista exemplifies how to stay warm while still using a variety of fashionable colors, textures and pieces. I immediately had to talk to this Fashionista when I spotted her oxblood jeans—one of this season’s biggest trends. Besides being extremely stylish, this Fashionista’s look was subtly yet fantastically festive. Layered over her colored denim, she rocks an olive green jacket, embodying yet another major fall trend—military style. This structured jacket gave the outfit a flattering silhouette. With the addition of a cream scarf, this Fashionista gives the edgy jacket a feminine touch. Her cable knit infinity scarf is stylishly oversized and adds a pop of winter white to lighten up the outfit. This trendy Fashionista adds classic leather boots and a military style backpack to complete a perfect look for heading to class on a late November day. The balance of trendy and classic, as well as edgy and feminine, makes her outfit dynamic and exciting.

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Bridget Petitti: I tend to go for solid pieces and then I like layering them for a cohesive look. Comfy sweaters and scarves over cute tops with leather boots tend to be my go-to in the morning for the colder seasons.
CF: Who are your fashion influences?
BP: I grew up in New England and currently go to school here, so being from the Northeast definitely influenced my personal style. I also look to my friends and other girls around campus for fashion inspiration and ideas.
CF: What are some of your current favorite trends?
BP: I have a ton of great jackets and coats, which are definitely staple pieces in my wardrobe. With the changing weather here in Boston, you always need to be prepared with a trendy and warm jacket!
CF: What is a staple piece in your wardrobe?
BP: I love the dark colors that come out this time of year. Colored jeans in dark or neutral colors are super versatile for layering.
CF: What are your favorite stores to shop in?
BP: It's a classic, but I love Gap. It always has great jeans, jackets and awesome staple pieces for your wardrobe. I'm also a sucker for J.Crew and Urban Outfitters for some nicer tops for going out!
