Season after season the question “what is the new black?” always comes up but in reality black is always the new black. Black is always a staple color in most designer’s collections because this color never goes out of style. Having a closet consisting of mainly black pieces assures that you always look chic and always match. A good way to add a pop of color or variance to an all black outfit is with a piece of colored jewelry or printed leggings.

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about your outfit…
Bridget Jepson: I love this outfit because its comfy and cute at the same time. My favorite color to wear is black, but I hate looking super goth so the pants add a cute touch.
CF:Where are you favorite places to shop?
BJ:Macy's, Forever21, H&M, Akira, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom Rack.
CF: Who are your favorite designers?
BJ: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rachel Rachel Roy, Vince Camuto, Michael Kors and Steve Madden.
CF: What is one item in your closet you cannot live without?
BJ: My leather leggings.
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
BJ: Honestly I can't because its so random. Sometimes I like to be edgy and other times I want to wear something glittery and girly. It all depends on my mood. I love finding out whats in style and then making it my own.
How To: Investing in a comfy, warm black sweater is key for the cold months. Since black matches everything and is not a bold statement you will be able to get a lot of wear out of one sweater. Pair this black sweater with black leggings or black jeans for a classic chic look. To jazz up the outfit opt for printed or textured leggings that are still mainly black. Pair the outfit with combat boots for an everyday trendy look and do not forget to accessorize!
