Nothing beats the months around Halloween and Thanksgiving. It’s the best time of year where you can layer your favorite outfits. I love warming up with oversized knit sweaters and warm thick scarves. This Fashionista totally changed my view of fall fashion with her fun aztec printed skirt and a jean shirt. She fearlessly broke all the fall rules in the right way.
Name: Ashley Stout
Major: Journalism & Business
College Fashionista: Tell me about what you're wearing today.
Ashley Stout: I'm wearing an aztec sequined mini skirt from Express with a jean shirt and chunky boots.
CF: Who is your style icon?
AS: Rachel Zoe because she keeps it real! She has an amazing fashion sense. I've always watched her show, The Rachel Zoe Project and am always checking out her latest styles.
CF: What are your most transitional pieces in your wardrobe?
AS: Probably jean shirts and riding boots for the fall! I love pairing them with leggings and a chunky scarf during the day for class. At night, a cute long sleeved dress with a jean shirt over it and riding boots is perfect for in-between weather!
CF: Where is your favorite place to shop on a budget?
AS: H&M has cute basics for great prices. Whenever I'm back in Kansas City I take a shopping trip to H&M and load up!
CF: As a senior, what are your most embarrassing outfit choices when you were younger?
AS: Two words: Freshman year. I look back at some of my “going out” outfits and am so embarrassed! One outfit that sticks out to me is a blue and white polka-dot dress with a turtle neck top. The polka-dots on the dress were huge, so obnoxious and so embarrassing.
How To: Steal this Fashionista's effortless style with a fun skirt like this one and a cute jean shirt. Don't forget to add some cute booties and a chunky scarf! Add a little flair with some feather earrings.
