Fashionista Spotlight

Let’s be honest. Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean we are going to stop wearing dresses entirely. As Fashionistas, we challenge ourselves to still look adorable even when it’s 40 degrees out. Who cares if it has been snowing for three days straight or that you can feel the frost bite on your nose. It’s like saying that we shouldn’t eat chocolate ice cream at 2 am because it’s bad for us. I mean, I don’t do that EVERY night. Only when I decided that cookies were a better option for that night or that my boyfriend decided to eat the whole container in two days and not leave anything for me. But that is beside the point. What I am trying to say is that Fashion can be painful and even bad for us. But in the end, we are just like this Fashionista: stylish, cold, and ice cream-less.

Name: Alexandra Guevara

Major: Interpersonal – Organizational Communications

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it from?

Alexandra Guevara: I am wearing a black mini dress and it’s sheer on the top. I got it from H&M. I am wearing a coat that is also from H&M and my shoes are from T.J. Maxx.

CF: Where do you normally shop for shoes?

AG: H&M, Forever 21, Target and T.J. Maxx.

CF: What is another way you may style this dress?

AG:  I would probably wear leggings and a big trench coat. I have a lot of those. Maybe pair it with boots.

How To: This brocade dress from Zara would look great with this River Island oversize blazer from ASOS. For another night, wear this Prabal Gurung cap from Target or this evergreen faux-fur coat. These tights are a great way to keep your legs warm, while looking stylish. Soon enough, you will forget how cold you actually feel and start thinking about how fierce you actually look.
