Fashionista Spotlight

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to dress up for the new year! Except for your few special occasions like Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, neutral sweaters, leggings and boots are the staples of a functional winter wardrobe. Everyone loves snuggling up with hot cocoa and a warm fire so ditch the footie pajamas and dress up for you days at home like this Fashionista did.

Name: Alex Yoss

Major: Communications

Year: Senior

College Fashionista: Tell me about what you're wearing.

Alex Yoss: I'm wearing an H&M oversized pale pink/peach cardigan, an H&M large floral fall scarf, a dark brown tank top, black leggings from J.Crew, black boots from Bloomingdales, Lily and Laura fall bracelets from Elly's Couture, a Michael Kors watch, a gold cocktail ring from Charming Charlie's and Betsy Johnson earrings from Elly's Couture!

CF: What is your favorite thing to wear in the winter?

AY: During the winter, I am all about black leggings and an oversized sweater topped with a bulky scarf and black riding boots.

CF: If you could pick three things for your fashion Christmas wish list, what would they be?

AY: The Louis Vuitton Cabas Rivington bag, Micheal Kors rain boots and leather leggings!

CF: Where is your favorite stores to shop at?

AY: J.Crew, H&M and Nordstroms.

CF: Who is your celebrity style inspiration?

AY: I don't really have a particular celebrity that I would consider my style inspiration. If I had to choose who I am closest to, I would choose a mix between Carrie Underwood and Lauren Conrad. I like the girly-ness of Carrie Underwood and the class of Lauren Conrad!

How To: Swipe this Fashionsta's comfortable holiday look by picking a neutral oversized sweater like this. Match it with a floral scarf and black leggings. Top it off with some fun jewelry and riding boots and you're set!
